Restaurant Menu
An interactive menu concept exploring React and high-contrast luxury design with black and gold styling.
Case Study
Overview
Restaurant Menu is a concept web application built to practice React while exploring a high-end, luxury-inspired visual direction.
While the primary focus was development practice, significant attention was given to layout and visual design.
The Problem
The goal was to design an interactive menu interface that felt elevated and refined, while remaining functional and readable.
A key constraint was balancing visual detail with usability in a structured, component-based layout.
The Approach
The design direction focused on elegance and contrast.
A black and gold color palette was used to communicate a premium dining experience, supported by a clean, structured layout to maintain readability.
Typography and spacing were used to reinforce hierarchy and guide attention through the menu content.
Development Notes
During implementation, an issue emerged with scale and proportion. The design was initially created in Figma at a reduced zoom level, which led to inconsistencies when translating measurements into code.
This highlighted the importance of working at consistent scale and frequently validating layout proportions during design-to-development translation.
Result
The final concept delivers a structured, high-contrast restaurant menu interface with a strong visual identity.
While there are refinements that could be made to spacing and scaling, the project successfully demonstrates both React implementation practice and luxury-style UI design exploration.
